QUALCOMM AND SAMSUNG TO CONTINUE THEIR PARTNERSHIP THROUGH 2030

Tech processor manufacturer, Qualcomm Inc. has disclosed in a statement that it will continue to partner with Samsung Electronics to further improve customer experiences with the latter’s Galaxy devices. The two companies made an agreement to extend their patent license agreement through 2030. According to the release, their patent will cover the third to sixth generations of wireless mobile telecom tech. A subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc., Qualcomm Technologies also agreed to continue partnering with Samsung to give users premium experiences in line with their track record and commitment. CONTENT CREATORS, MUSIC RIGHTS HOLDERS TO EARN MONEY VIA META’S MUSIC REVENUE SHARING

  Meta is introducing Music Revenue Sharing as a new feature to give creators the ability to monetize their videos with licensed music. In a statement, the feature gives the opportunity to creators of content and music rights holders “a new way to earn money from the videos on Facebook.” The feature will be powered by Rights Manager, a Facebook tool developed to aid in rights protection for “content owners” while allowing for content management. Furthermore, eligibility is granted to creators with in-stream ads (ads before, mid, or after content) available in their content as well as meet their monetization eligibility standards. NORTONLIFELOCK REPORT SHOWS FACEBOOK IMITATED BY 75 PERCENT PHISHING ATTEMPTS

Cybersecurity firm, NortonLifeLock says that Facebook is largely emulated in various phishing attacks that occur on social media. In their full-year analysis, published in the quarterly Consumer Cyber Safety Pulse Report via Norton Labs, it stated that about 75 percent of phishing websites pose as Facebook. This leads victims to enter their login details into the counterfeit page, giving cybercriminals privileged access. The report detailed new ways cybercriminals used to trick social media users. This serves as an addition to various initiatives by the firm to enhance digital services in Africa.
