GCI LAUNCHES NEW CGI SENSE360 TO IMPROVE DISASTER RESPONSE
IT and business consulting services firms, CGI Global has launched CGI Sense360 its cloud-based, smart analytics platform that gives emergency responders holistic and accurate situational awareness in the event of a disaster.
As per a recent media
release, CGI Sense360 is a “cloud-based, smart analytics platform” designed to aid
organizations by creating a visual representation of events of disaster. This representation
guides emergency organizations in mobilizing and attending to these situations.
Furthermore, the data platform, in the event of any
disaster, gathers recent information from various data points that is important
to the disaster and creates an “augmented reality, situational images, and
other data” for emergency responders to enable swift and safe rescues.
“The immediate availability of detailed situation images
and current data is crucial for efficient, rapid rescue measures. And, it is
precisely this information that the new cloud-based data analytics platform CGI
Sense360 can provide.”, says Dr. Steven Bayer, Project Coordinator at International
Search And Rescue (I.S.A.R), a project partner.
“…an exact situation picture and an unrestricted flow of
information are indispensable in the event of a crisis or disaster. In
addition, the time factor is important…It delivers all the information needed
for time-critical coordination and relief operations in near real-time.”,
comments Senior Vice President of CGI’s operations in Northern Germany, Stefan
Wichert.
CGI says it will continue to develop the data platform
with other situational awareness scenarios for security organizations and
rescue teams to assist them.
