MAIDEN EDITION OF GAT SUMMIT TO BRIDGE GOVERNMENT-TECH GAP

The first edition of the Government and Tech Summit (GAT Summit), on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos at 10:00 am.

The summit is organized by tech platform, Technext, and online news platform, Ripples Nigeria, which is said to host policymakers and industry players in the tech community in a discussion to understand and address issues from both fronts as well as solutions to enable both sides to offer effectiveness in their work.

Their discussions will be based on the event’s theme “Government, Regulation and the Future of Tech”, with a central focus on financial technology, media regulation, and tech for governance. There is an estimation of over 4000 participants in the hybrid (physical/virtual) one-day event.

Speakers at the event include a keynote address from the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Other industry players include Stellas Digital Bank CEO Bukola (Solomon) Olutayo, CEO of JET Motor Company, Oluwemimo Osanipin, CEO of Softcom, and Yomi Adedeji among others.

The GAT Summit is organizing this event because of “The need to ease the recurring friction between innovators and government, facilitating meaningful and constructive engagement instead.”
