WEBB FONTAINE ESTABLISHES NEW IRMS WITH MTS IN EGYPT

AI trade tech and customs facilitation provider, Webb Fontaine, has set up its Integrated Risk Management (IRM) system in Egypt to migrate customs procedures to a digital platform.

This comes after the system’s observed effectiveness via its implementation at the Dekheila customs facility, dealing with shipping. The establishment was done in agreement with the representative of the Egyptian government, Misr Technology Service (MTS). The system is fitted with “AI and data analysis” functions that that help to identify potential risks and its severity.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Webb Fontaine, Alioune Ciss, says: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as the primary technology partner for this exciting project by Misr Technology Services (MTS) and to be implementing our state-of-the-art Integrated Risk Management solution," stated AI has had a profound effect on Trade and Customs administrations around the world, and we're excited to demonstrate this in Egypt through our partnership with Misr Technology Services.”

Project Manager at Webb Fontaine, Mazen Abu Al-Ghanam, added: “The programme will help further reduce release time by utilizing the latest technologies in AI and ML for expediting the processing of legitimate and compliant goods and shipments, better allocate resources and efforts for carrying out inspections, reviewing and processing of exported and imported goods formalities by Customs or a specific agency in addition to expanding green lane application for clients enrolled in the AEO programme.”

This forms part of plans to grow the region into a top-notch cargo service provider. The deployment in Dekheila has paved way for the system’s gradual implementation in other regions in Egypt. MTS adds that it choosing of Webb Fontaine was based on their advancement in their technologies and the use of AI. They also touted Webb Fontaine accomplishments in offering a modern approach to global trade.
