LOPEER INCLUDE NAIRA AS PAYMENT OPTION THROUGH NEW FEATURE

Crypto platform, Lopeer, has made preparations to allow the Nigerian Naira be used in the crypto space for money-related activities.

This integration enables African cryptocurrency users to deposit physical currency into personal crypto wallets for their savings and investment purposes. Lopeer says these preparations will complement efforts to aid the adoption of and building of knowledge on crypto. The new feature also enables conversion from the naira to the US dollar, and as well, enable “accredited merchants” and app users to make deposits.

“We are pleased to launch this new feature that will enable our users in Nigeria to deposit Nigerian Naira (NGN) into their Lopeer wallet, especially at this time when people are looking for a way to save in USD and protect themselves against currency devaluations. Users can now deposit NGN and instantly convert it into USD for safe keep on Lopeer,” says Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Eze Sunday.
“Our mission is to bring financial inclusion and prosperity to Africa and emerging markets by building solutions that will give access to decentralized finance, and we are glad to be fulfilling a part of that mission today.”

Africa has been seen as growing hub for crypto markets by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) despite its irregularities. Countries such as Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and suchlike use the currency. It also has the tendency of use as “legal tender” in various countries, with backing from the central government.
