AGRITECH: AVIRTECH AND ASTROCAST COMBINE TECNOLOGIES FOR PLANTATION TRACKING

Asian agriculture technology firm, Avirtech, has teamed up with nanotech IoT firm, Astrocast, to facilitate healthy plantations through satellite IoT connectivity to Avirtech’s farm control system, BIOTA.

Avilink’s BIOTA is said to perform monitoring and real-time analysis functions that health to improve the life span and yield in agriculture. This technology has the tendency to boost effective outcomes from agriculture in Southeast Asia. With this partnership, Astrocast’s nanosatellite technology will be merged with Avirlink BIOTA for enhanced connectivity, and also, effective tracking of progress in plantation.

Many plantations are in remote areas where fixed line, terrestrial and cellular connectivity is not ubiquitous. This is not ideal for agribusiness who are trying to adopt Agriculture 4.0 and develop digital agriculture ecosystems that use IoT (Internet of Things) and analytics from field-based, integrated sensor solutions,” says Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Avirtech, Rendy Ferixsen,

“Only 15% of the world has access to terrestrial networks. This collaboration between Astrocast and Avirtech allows its agricultural clients and plantation owners to access digital ecosystems in remote farming areas, using sensors to monitor and control plantations. By deploying Avirtech's technology, enabled with SatIoT connectivity, plantation owners can improve the efficiency of their farms, increase output, increase productivity and improve sustainable development goals,” says Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of Astrocast, Fabien Jordan.

Furthermore, assessing and responding to plantation changes would need close to no human interventions because of BIOTA’s abilities. Their sensors are able to follow the growth process of plantations such as “weather, temperature, humidity, rainfall data, water level, water quality, and soil moisture”. This will prove effective for clients into farming.
