NORA DENZEL ASSUMES POSITION OF LEAD INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR AS JOHN CALDWELL RETIRES

Performance tech company, Advanced Micro Devices, has announced the retirement and departure of the now former lead independent director, John Caldwell.

According to the board, Nora Denzel, will take over from Mr. Caldwell after his sixteen-year service with the board of AMD.

Mr. Caldwell was the chairman of the board between 2016 and 2022, and earlier this year, served in the position of lead independent director among other positions.

Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Advanced Micro Devices, Lisa Su said  “On behalf of the AMD board of directors, I want to thank John for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to deliver long-term value to our shareholders,”

“His dedication to the success of AMD has made a lasting impact on the company and we wish him the best in his retirement. I am pleased that Nora has agreed to become our lead independent director. Her breadth of technical and business experience and the strong role she has played since joining the board make Nora ideally suited for the position.” 

Nora Denzel has been on the AMD board since March 2014. She carries a weight of experience from previous high-ranking positions in Intuit, Hewlett Packard, IBM and suchlike. Apart from AMD, she also serves on the board of NortonLifeLock, SUSE Linux, and Ericsson. She is also on the National Association of Corporate Directors in Washington, D.C.
