STL LAUNCHES INDIGENOUS MULTICORE FIBER AND CABLE TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION

Indian digital networks integrator, Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (STL), has launched Multiverse, the country’s first ever multicore fiber and cable, and a means to change connectivity and the sending of information.

A media release states that the concept was brought about “indigenously” by their research and development team at their Center of Excellence, Maharashtra. The setup is said to impact telecommunications positively.

Chief Technology Officer at Bharti Airtel, Randeep Sekhon, has expressed his excitement in the innovation initiated by an indigenous company as well as its benefit to increasing 5G service.

“We have been doing deep research on optical fiber for over 15 years. In the last three years, we have been able to excel in Multicore technology and indigenously developed this product. We are proud to be the first in India to launch this. STL's Multiverse will revolutionize 5G and data center connectivity, actualize quantum computing at scale and make the internet greener.”, says Chief Technology Officer at STL, Badri Gomatam, P.hD.

STL Multiverse is touted to provide revolutionary perks such as high capacity per 5G cell site, quad-core fiber connectivity un data centers, quantum communication feasibility, and carbon footprint reduction.
