RX NETWORKS TO INTEGRATE METER-LEVEL LOCATION PLATFORM IN SNAPDRAGON-BASED DEVICES IN AND AROUND CHINA

Location service provider, Rx Networks, says its TruePoint.io platform will be merged into Snapdragon-based mobile devices to enable a meter-level, pinpoint accuracy in determining location.

The company explains that TruePoint.io, which uses satellite navigation (GNSS) for location-based services, will be available on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 888 5G-powered devices. This means Android phones with the said chipset can access location accuracy just as high-grade receivers.

Location sharing, health and fitness, delivery services, and other location-based applications will benefit from this integration as well as their respective users. Thus, standalone GNSS processors will not hinder location related connections. Rx Networks plans to commence its initiative from China, then all over the world.

Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Rx Networks, John Carley says: “Over the past decade Rx Networks delivered reliable systems data to billions of devices globally with 99.999% SLA. By leveraging our proven data delivery expertise and infrastructure, TruePoint.io is well positioned to lead the enablement of precise positioning to the mass market.”

“RX networks provision of GNSS data services for accurately positioning smartphones using Snapdragon mobile platforms will enable meter-level location accuracy almost everywhere smartphones can connect to a terrestrial cellular network. Meter-level location accuracy is poised to improve smartphone user experiences and spur the creation of exciting and innovative services for businesses and consumers,” says Vice president for Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
