SILICON LABS PARTNERS WITH IIIT-H TO INTRODUCE CAMPUS-BASED WI-SUN CONNECTION

Silicon Labs and the International Institute of Information Technology – Hyderabad (IIIT-H) will launch its first Wireless Smart Utility Network (Wi-SUN) campus-wide on September 29, 2022 at the Smart City Living Lab. 

The introduction on Wi-SUN on the IIIT-H campus will aid in the remote operation of connected smart devices and Internet of Things (IoTs), especially to monitor and control streetlights on the campus.

“Hyderabad marks our growing commitment to supporting the development of India and the greater Asia Pacific region. Silicon Labs Hyderabad is fast becoming the leading IoT wireless technology center in the region,” says President and Chief Executive Officer at Silicon Labs, Matt Johnson.

Silicon Labs is a partner in the setup of the Smart City Living Lab, collaborating with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India, the Government of Telangana and the European Business and Technology Center (EBTC). 

The Smart City Living Lab is part of initiatives by the Indian Government “to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of people by enabling local development and harnessing technology to create smart outcomes for citizens.”
