FRACTUS COLLABORATE WITH THE UPC TO CREATE TECH CENTER FOR DEEP TECH SOLUTIONS
Smart devices manufacturer, Fractus, and Universitat
Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), have agreed to set up the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech
Hub to carry out research that bring about and promote technology solutions.
The parties who signed the agreement were the Dean of the UPC, Daniel Crespo,
and President and Chief Executive Officer at Fractus, Rubén Bonet.
The plan, as stated in their release, is to
help them in exploring deep tech and couching impacting solutions. They intend
to focus on an array of fields in science and technology where challenges are
tackled as well as the promotion of “research, innovation
and knowledge transfer.”
The Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub will focus on related
deep tech activities such as developing talent, training, innovation, and
research among others. This focus will facilitate start-up/spin-off creation by
UPC in the field of deep tech.
“The activities of the hub will also promote the UPC's R+D+I in the deep
tech field through industrial doctorates, collaborations in research and
innovation projects, the promotion of research lines or the development of
workshops, as well as the incubation and acceleration of companies, among
others. It is also planned to promote innovation challenges, prizes and forums
aimed at students, as well as end-of-degree and master's theses in this field.”,
the release further explained.
Fractus, a spin-off from the UPC will continue to collaborate in
studying new technological innovation through research to better position
themselves in their manufacturing processes.
