NSO GROUP CEO LEAVES POSITION AS COMPANY UNDERGOES RESTRUCTURING

An Israeli cybersecurity firm, NSO Group, has disclosed the stepping down of its co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shalev Hulio, from his position as part of an in-house restructuring in the firm.

According to Reuters, there will be a cut of about a hundred employees from its workforce, and the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Yaron Shohat, will act as an overseer of the firm’s affairs until the appointment of a new CEO.

Mr. Hulio has stated that the restructuring is a part of the preparations for the company’s elevation to new heights. He will continue to serve on the company’s board and will be involved in certain key roles and decisions.

The cybersecurity firm is the creator of Pegasus, a software that is said to assist government agencies and security corporations in tracking down and intercepting devices and messages that are of interest. However, criticism has risen pertaining to the use of the software to target and spy on dissidents and journalists.

Chief Operating Officer, Yaron Shohat says the use of “cutting-edge technology” in their software and its ability to assist in crime fighting is what makes their product one that is sought-after.

“NSO will ensure that the company’s ground-breaking technologies are used for the rightful and worthy purposes.”, he added.
