JAZZ TELECOM TO USE NOKIA’S SDM FOR ENHANCED DATA MANAGEMENT AND NETWORK DELIVERY

The Subscriber Data Management (SDM) introduced by Nokia, a communications and IT firm, has been chosen by Pakistani Telecommunications company, Jazz, to better improve the management of subscriber data (HLR/ HSS) while facilitating new products and services.

The move by Jazz forms parts of its “expansion and deployment strategy” as the telecom company readies itself to refurbish to a cloud-based SDM structure by 2025.

The strategy will also enhance data safety and storage in its four data centers: Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Faisalabad. This will help to retrieve data that is lost in the event of disasters. The integration of Nokia’s SDM will assist in Jazz’s digital transformation as well as lessen the provisioning time for new customers.

Vice President for Network at Jazz, Abdul Rehman Usmani comments on the digitalization journey and the partnership with Nokia.

“Being the largest digital mobile operator in Pakistan, Jazz is playing a key role in the country’s digitalization journey. Our extended collaboration with Nokia will help us further improve the customer experience by ensuring network resilience and rapidly launch new consumer and business services. Nokia's industry-proven solution will help us towards readiness of any future technologies, while enhancing the growing needs of the existing networks.”

Again, the head of the Customer Team for Jazz at Nokia, Imran Durrani said: “Nokia SDM’s software will provide Jazz with a consolidated multi-technology network and enhance its digital services by allowing the operator to auto-provision new devices at scale. We look forward to expanding our longstanding relationship with Jazz for this crucial project as part of its network modernization transformation.”
