INFINEON TO PRESENT SECURITY CHIPS FOR IMPROVED SAFETY IN ONLINE PAYMENTS
Tech Firm, Infineon Technologies, has disclosed a manufactured security chip with the capability of making payments easier and safer for its users. The firm looks to present this possibility at IFA 2022.
In a media release, they state that features such as
biometrics and digital wallets used to make payments can have enhanced
protection with its new SECORATM range
of products. These products are said to give
“Users
expect reliable and convenient payment methods that fit their everyday
life," says Head of Infineon's Digital Security & Identity product segment,
Ioannis Kabitoglou One in two bank cards uses a microchip from Infineon.
Looking to the future, Kabitoglou adds: “We want to make digital payments via
connected devices accessible to as many people and businesses as possible
worldwide. Ease of use and security go hand in hand.”
The
media release also touches on key pointers that their security chips will impact.
It states that the use of technologies as means of payment will become key with
biometrics and owner recognition playing a beneficial role.
It
also speaks to the enhanced security that users will get with the integration
of their security chips. According to them, all biometric data and personal
information will be safeguarded against any external intrusion.
